Entre chien et loup
(Nightfall)
Marc Cellier's photographs illustrate the nocturnal urban landscape: marked by the absence of man, the public space becomes the scene for other actors. The ground that during the day is occupied by man is recaptured by animals at night. Unfortunately, the images do not reveal whether this changeover continually repeats itself or whether man has forever abandoned the scenes? In the latter case, one question continues to haunt the observer, deepening his concern: has animal survived man? And has man's belief in his superiority over the animal been but a utopian belief at the end of the day?
