The renovation of the museum 'The Family of Man'
in 12 images

New lease of life for the old museum!

The atmosphere inside the castle is understated, accentuated by a harmonious dialogue between light and shade. The architecture joins the old castle's narrative walls to the new smooth and neutral picture rails, which simultaneously conceal sights and open up views and, in doing so, play the same game as the photographs, namely filling and penetrating the space to describe a whole, a single monumental sculpture built from images that is so characteristic of "The Family of Man".

The transformation and construction phases that preceded this concept are shown in an open-air photography installation.
